Oral Health Month: Helpful Habits for a Healthy Smile

A study done by Kelton Global showed that 48 percent of adults believe that a smile is a person’s most memorable feature. It makes sense, considering that a smile is a universal form of communication. We want our smiles to last a lifetime. With June being Oral Health Month it’s the perfect time to discuss healthy habits that keep our smiles looking their best.


You should brush your teeth two times per day for two minutes. Brush in the morning and before you go to bed. Use toothpaste that contains fluoride. We often get questions about the effectiveness of electric vs. manual toothbrushes, and it’s really down to personal preference. The most effective toothbrush is the one that you use consistently.


We recommend flossing daily (with floss or a floss pick, not the dance) to help reach the places your toothbrush can’t, and to prevent issues like cavities and gum disease.

Seeing Your Dentist Regularly

We know that we sound like a broken record, but seeing your dentist twice per year for an exam, cleaning, and fluoride treatment is extremely important to maintain your oral health and catch issues like cavities before they turn into crowns and root canals. A dentist can also spot symptoms that may be signs of other serious medical conditions. This can save you pain,time, and money!
