Request an Appointment

When should I go to the ER instead?

plus icon

If you have swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, a high fever with facial swelling, a possible broken jaw, or bleeding you can't control, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 right away.

What should I do if a tooth gets knocked out?

plus icon

Pick the tooth up by the top (not the root), gently rinse it without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If that isn't possible, keep it in a small container of milk and see a dentist as soon as possible. Acting quickly gives the best chance of saving the tooth.
